Na Na's Homemade Bread Stuffing

Ingredients: for 13 lb Turkey (make sure both cavities are empty and rubbed with salt)

2 -3 large loafs of white bread/honey wheat  (take 3-4 slices at a time, cut into 3 strips then cut into cubes into a large pot)
1 small bunch of fresh Italian parsely, chopped and tossed with bread cubes
1 1/2 tbls of poultry seasoning (do NOT skimp)
1 tbls of salt
1 tbls of pepper

saute in 1 stick of butter, 2-3 chopped sticks of celery, 1 large chopped onion , saute in butter until onion is clear and celery is softened.......let cool completly then add to bread mixture ( I make the day before and put in refrigorator )

3/4 cut of chicken broth or chicken stock (cooled)

2 eggs whisked

put ingredients all togeather in large pot and mix togeather, do NOT over mix bread mixure.

by handfuls stuff turkey in front and back, really stuff it and let a bulge of stuffing mound on both ends. Coke Turkey as usual * See my never fail Turkey recipe.

Any extra stuffing put in an "oven bag" or "turkey bag" and cook in oven on 375 for 35-40 minutes for extra stuffing ( a must for left overs!!!)



A little history on this stuffing: My mother's mother , "Gi Gi" (great grandma) first made this stuffing and it has been a house favorite all through the years, I know everyone says there Mom's stuffing recipe is the best , but I promise you this one truly is awesome, just plain delicious bread stuffing! My kids love it and I hope our grandkids carry on the tradition! Proud to say my daughter Jill won't eat any other stuffing!!!
