Sausage Peppers and Onions

Falling behind on posting recipes so I'll just get right down to it........

Sausage Peppers & Onions

2 large green pepper-sliced in thin slices
2 medium size onions sliced
4 cloves garlic-minced
1 16oz box of fresh white mushroom-sliced chunky (not too thin)
1 32 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 32 ox can diced tomatoes
2 cups water
4 tbls of orengeno
olive oil
garlic powder


Pre heat oven to 400 degrees

In large crock pot put crushed tomatoes/diced tomatoes/2 cups water /1 tbls olive oil/1 minced garlic clove/2 tbls oregeno.......put on high and cover

in broiler pan cook about 10-12 mild italian sausage/2 garlic cloved minced/2 tbls oregeno/2 tbls of olive oil. Bake in oven until sausge is brown on all sides approx 10 minutes.

Add sausages to crock pot mixture

In broiler pan that you cooked the sausage in put onions/peppers/2 cloves garlic minced/2 tbls of oregeno/mushrooms and put under broiler for appox 5 minutes (careful not to burn)

add this mixture to crockpot stir all ingredients, cover and continue to cook on High for approx 1 hour.

Serve over egg noodles or white rice!!!!

Easy , quick meal!!! And YUMMO. prep time is approx 20 minutes, the crock pot does the rest of the work!


I have often made this recipe for large crowds and events with friends and family- it is a no hassle meal that can be made for small dinners or big crowds. Delicous with some fresh sliced Italian bread.
